Brianna Karpowicz
PostDoctoral Fellow
Department of Biomedical Engineering, Emory University and Georgia Institute of Technology
Brianna worked for BrainGate as a postdoctoral fellow in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Emory University and Georgia Tech working with Dr. Chethan Pandarinath. Her research focused on developing computational approaches to improve the stability of neural decoders and reduce the need for explicit recalibration procedures.
Brianna received her BSE in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. Her undergraduate research focused on understanding neural coding in primate auditory cortex. Brianna received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Emory University in 2024, continued working for BrainGate as a postdoctoral research fellow for 6 months after, and published the paper “Stabilizing brain-computer interfaces through alignment of latent dynamics.”
