Derek is a graduate student in the Brown University Department of Biomedical Engineering studying Neuroengineering. His current work is focused on software development for the BrainGate system, and exploring 3D control from multidimensional decoding. He is broadly interested in how language networks might affect one’s ability for introspective thought, and how assistive communication technologies can aid these networks. Prior to Brown, Derek graduated from Columbia University with a BS in Computer Science.
