Emily joined BrainGate in the summer of 2018 when she was working as a Master’s student at Case Western Reserve University. Prior to coming to CWRU, Emily attended Carnegie Mellon University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering. She then worked at NIH in the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering Extramural Branch as a Scientific Program Analyst from 2016 to 2018. Emily is currently a 2nd year Ph.D. Student working in the lab of Dr. Bolu Ajiboye. Her current research focuses on restoration of hand function in spinal cord injury patients by understanding the cortical representation of hand grasping.
