Henry Jenkins
Master's Student
Brown University
Henry is a Master’s student in biomedical engineering at Brown University, specializing in neuroengineering. Within BrainGate, he works on the modeling and development of control systems for intracortical control of upper extremity soft-robotic devices.
In 2021, Henry graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a B.S in mechanical engineering magna cum laude and a minor in biomechanical engineering. His background is primarily in biomechanics, mathematical modeling of biological systems, controls engineering, and medical device engineering. During his studies, he did research in the Functional Biomechanics Laboratory, where he helped characterize the biomechanics of wobbleboard balance through EMG, optical methods, and biomechanical modeling. He also led a capstone design team in the design and implementation of a magnetically steered, soft-robotic endoscope. Finally, after graduation, Henry gained industry experience with electrosurgical device engineering through his work at Medtronic.
