Nick joined the BrainGate team in 2022 as a postdoctoral scholar with Dr. Sergey Stavisky and Dr. David Brandman at the UC Davis Neuroprosthetics Lab. Prior to this, Nick earned his Ph.D. in BioEngineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where he developed novel imaging approaches for mapping high-resolution cortical connectivity in the brains of non-human primates. As a postdoctoral scholar, Nick aims to contribute to the development of a brain-computer interface to restore speech in people who cannot speak. Additionally, Nick is interested in studying basic science questions surrounding the neural basis of speech.
