Sarah Cavanagh

Research Engineer

VA Providence Healthcare System

Sarah joined the BrainGate team in the fall of 2019, when she began her Biomedical Engineering ScM degree at Brown University. She is interested in understanding the neural correlates of upper-extremity movement in neurotypical adults to inform and help create a rehabilitative EEG-BCI for stroke patients with paresis.

Before starting at Brown, Sarah earned a BS degree in Integrative Neuroscience with a systems and computational concentration from Fordham University. Her undergraduate research, in Dr. Daniel Leeds’ lab, examined population-level differences in cortical visual representations correlated with aging and cognitive decline.
