Sharlene joined the BrainGate team in September of 2017. Her previous work focused on restoring somatosensory feedback to brain-computer interface users. As part of BrainGate, her research goals include focusing on controlling prosthetic devices for upper limb function.

Dr. Flesher received her PhD in bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh and her BS in computer engineering from St. Mary’s University of San Antonio.
