Shubhom is a graduate student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering advised by Dr. Nishal Shah. He is interested in cognitive-motor BCIs to improve assistive robots for activities of daily living, and neural stimulation methods to restore sensations.

Prior to pursuing his PhD at Rice, he spent several years working on a retinal neuroprosthetic at Bionic Sight in New York City and earned a BS (Electrical and Computer Engineering) and M.Eng (Computer Science) from Cornell University.
